Living the Dream by Phyllis Bairrington
For many years, my family vacationed in the most remote region in Colorado. After retirement, I moved to Colorado.
Photography began as a way to show my family back in Texas, the beautiful scenery and wildlife.
From the flat land rice fields and pine forests of southeast
Texas, to an altitude of 8,671’, the mountainsides, valleys, and gulches around
Lake City offer the photographer not only the white-tail deer of home, but mule
deer, moose, elk, rams, coyotes, foxes, marmots, black bear, and more. Lake
City is a tiny community of less than 400 permanent year-round residents.
During the summer tourist season, 1,000’s of people come from all over the US
to enjoy outdoor activities.
